This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record.
Choose the Record Custodian
For county jail booking and release material, use the Grayson County Sheriff's Office public-information process. Written requests may be emailed to gcsopublicinfo@co.grayson.tx.us or mailed or delivered to GCSO, 200 S. Crockett Street, Suite 105A, Sherman, TX 75090. The sheriff states that written requests receive review and response within ten business days, which is not a promise of full production in that period. Court records split by case level: misdemeanor matters go to the County Clerk at 903-813-4335, while felony matters go to the District Clerk, Suite 120A at the Justice Center, 903-813-4352, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Use the source that matches the custody event:
- Use the home search and records path for a named released person or a written county release request.
- Check Grayson County probation and parole when the person has left custody but may remain supervised.
- Review Jail Releases: 24 Hours for same-day options and the local feed fallback.
- Use Projected Release for a future date and VINELink Inmate Search for current Texas notification routes.
- Select a facility page in the footer when the holding system is known.
- Search the official TDCJ locator for a sentenced state prisoner.
- Use the BOP locator for federal custody or ICE ODLS for immigration detention.
County and court notification: Texas IVSS-Counties, 866-268-8959, is available around the clock. It replaced county VINE in 2025. Confirm Grayson participation and remember that a person no longer in custody may not remain searchable.
State custody and supervision: TDCJ Victim Services and IVSS handles TDCJ prison, parole, and mandatory-supervision notices. Call 800-848-4284 or email victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov. This is not the route for an ordinary county-jail bond release.
Federal custody: Search the BOP Inmate Locator for federal prison records, generally from 1982 forward. The U.S. Marshals Service has no public prisoner locator, so use its FOIA process, the federal case, or the actual holding facility when BOP has no record.
Immigration custody: Use the ICE Online Detainee Locator or call the Detention Reporting and Information Line at 1-888-351-4024, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern. A transfer from GCSO to ICE is continued custody, not a community release.
